Diploma of Remedial Massage
PROFESSIONAL WORK HISTORY:
Pia completed her Diploma in 2013 at Australasian College of Natural Therapies in Sydney and relocated to Brisbane during 2014. During her time as a Remedial Massage Therapist, Pia has worked alongside other Allied Health professionals and Personal Trainers, to help achieve an overall holistic approach for every person she sees. She has had the opportunity to work with some elite Rugby League, Union, Soccer and AFL players. She has also worked within an MMA gym where she was able to work with athletes competing in MMA, Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Pia has a special interest in combining her treatments (remedial, sports or deep tissue massage) with mobility and exercise work.
WHAT MAKES PIA A GREAT MASSAGE THERAPIST?
Pia likes to approach her treatments by listening to her clients needs and getting to know about their work, lifestyle or sport, so that she can ensure her treatments are best suited to each individual. She will not simply look at a person’s ‘point of pain’, but rather take the time to think about what actions a person does on a daily basis that may be contributing to the pain. From this, she can ensure her treatment and post prevention care are best suited to fit into her clients lifestyle.
WHAT DOES PIA ENJOY DOING OUTSIDE OF WORK?
In her spare time, she enjoys training at the gym, going to the beach, weekends away and spending time with her friends.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.” – Marianne Williamson.
